No tools required! ReelTrigger features a tool-free, quick-release mounting system. Simply slide the base into your rod holder and push down until it locks securely in place. The entire installation takes under 5 minutes. When you're ready to remove it, simply lift the release lever and slide it out.

The throw distance is controlled by the adjustment lever on the side of the unit. Turn it clockwise for longer throws (up to 60 meters) and counter-clockwise for shorter throws (starting at 10 meters). The dial has clear markings so you can reproduce your favorite settings consistently.

The throwing arm can rotate 180° (from straight ahead to directly behind you). Simply loosen the rotation knob, position the arm to your desired angle, and tighten. This allows you to throw targets to either side of the boat or behind you for simulating different shooting scenarios.

Lift the throwing arm to its upright position, place a standard 110mm clay target on the spring-loaded cup, and push down until it clicks into place. The safety clip will secure the clay. When you're ready to throw, pull the trigger handle.

ReelTrigger fits any standard rod holder with an inner diameter of 1" to 1.5" (25-38mm). If your boat has rod holders, ReelTrigger will fit. This includes most fishing boats, pontoon boats, bass boats, center consoles, kayaks with rod holders, and deck boats. If you're unsure, contact us with your measurements.

Absolutely! Pontoon boats are excellent platforms for clay shooting with ReelTrigger. The spacious deck provides plenty of room to move around, and the high railings offer safety. Just make sure you're shooting away from passengers and the front deck.

For rod holders outside the 1" to 1.5" range, we offer adapter sleeves (sold separately) that allow ReelTrigger to fit smaller or larger diameters. Contact our support team for assistance finding the right adapter for your setup.

Yes! One of ReelTrigger's best features is its dual-purpose design. Simply remove the throwing arm assembly by unscrewing the two bolts, and the remaining base acts as a standard rod holder for your fishing gear. Reattach the arm in seconds when you're ready to shoot again.

ReelTrigger can launch clay targets up to 60 meters (approximately 200 feet). The adjustable distance dial allows you to set throws anywhere from 10 meters to 60 meters. Maximum distance depends on the clay weight, wind conditions, and the tension setting on the spring mechanism.

ReelTrigger is compatible with all standard 110mm (4.3") clay targets. This includes orange, black, white, and fluorescent clays. We recommend orange clays for best visibility against water and sky backgrounds. Mini clays (90mm) can also be used with a simple adapter ring.

ReelTrigger delivers highly consistent throws with minimal variation. In testing, consecutive throws at the same settings landed within a 3-meter radius at 40 meters—excellent consistency for practice purposes. The mechanical design eliminates the human error that affects hand-thrown clays.

ReelTrigger is securely mounted in your rod holder and can handle light chop. For rough conditions, we recommend securing your boat to a dock or mooring, and positioning the throwing direction away from wave action. Never attempt to shoot in dangerous water conditions. Always prioritize safety.

Always wear eye protection and hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs) when shooting. We strongly recommend a shooting vest or pouch to hold shells. For boat safety, wear a personal flotation device (PFD) and ensure your boat is properly secured. Never shoot while the boat is in motion.

Never shoot toward the front of the boat, other passengers, or any area you haven't cleared. Shoot toward open water away from shores, other boats, and structures. Know your shotgun's pattern and always be aware of where your shot could potentially land. When in doubt, reduce throw distance.

We recommend removing ReelTrigger while transporting your boat or driving at speed. The throwing arm creates wind resistance that could damage the unit or your boat. Remove it by unlocking the quick-release and sliding it out—takes only seconds. Store it in the included waterproof bag.
